Multiple choice
A vignette, a stem, a set of options, and feedback with an explanation and a reference. Single-best-answer or multiple-response, shuffled or fixed.
The image sits beside the question or above it, and can be opened full-screen. Answer explanations can carry their own annotated version of the same image.
The standard player: play and pause, scrub, step a frame at a time, loop. The learner can study the loop the way they would at the bedside before committing to an answer.
Hotspot — click the structure
Instead of choosing from a list, the learner points at the finding. You draw the region once; the tool decides whether the click landed inside it.
The region is tracked across the loop with key frames, so a structure that slides with respiration stays inside its own outline. The learner can click on any frame.

All of the Media Editor’s abilities are wired in here, so you can make question and answer media higher impact as you go: pick a question’s media — or an answer’s — press Edit, and these are the tools you get. It is the same editor as the standalone Media Editor, built from the same source, so an improvement to one is an improvement to the other. The only difference is the doors: here a file comes from the file locker and goes back to it, there it comes from your disk and goes back in the format it arrived in.
Wash a structure in colour to say this is the thing without covering it up. The region can be tracked frame by frame, so the colour stays on the finding while the finding moves.
The kidney is filled rather than circled, and on the loop the free fluid above the liver is filled while it changes shape with respiration — the region was drawn on a few frames and interpolated across the rest.
These are files the media editor wrote, not an overlay drawn on top of an untouched clip. What you see here is what a learner would open.
Arrows, freehand, shapes, text and measurement marks. Draw on a single frame, or carry a mark across the loop so it stays on the structure it is pointing at.
Seven labels on a beating parasternal long axis — septum, left ventricle, mitral valve, aortic valve, RV outflow, left atrium, descending aorta — turn a view a learner has to be taught into one they can read while it moves. On the still, an arrow to the Nexplanon rod and another to its posterior shadow say why the bright line matters.
Both sides of the clip comparison are the same recording with and without its marks, playing in step — so what the handle reveals is the annotation and nothing else.
The housekeeping that makes a teaching file look deliberate: cut the machine's banner away, lift a dark sector, and keep only the seconds that show the finding.
The header strip and the machine's soft-key bar are gone, along with the acquisition date sitting in the top corner — which is also one fewer identifier to worry about.
